Last weekend I was fine
Playing the Flight
Beholding the divine
And about to start the fight!
With Halo Infinite
I was having a blast
It would stimulate
Memories of the past.
Today my heart is empty.
There’s no Halo to thrive,
Where nothing is plenty
Or too dull to drive.
I think of the grapple hook
I can use to climb and swing.
No idea where to look
On that beautiful ring.
This was the best time
I’ve ever had, and see,
I had the time of my life
Back at MCC.
That Live Fire
Was only the start
Of a desire
That’s out of chart.
At first, I felt heavy
Like in my bad dreams.
It felt good, but messy.
Temporary, it seems.
As time went by,
I smiled of joy.
I was in the sky
Ready to deploy.
The AR was renewed,
The BR the best.
A Bulldog was brewed.
“Right in the chest!”
There was also the Commando.
Didn’t feel so fine,
But there was a glow
I couldn’t deny.
The bots were a surprise!
Their intelligence shows
In the form of despise
And disrespect that grows.
They t-bagged my friend
So I t-bagged them too.
Turns out, they ascend.
I got a ninja coup…
Other players arrived
We started playing PvP.
We all felt revived
Like chilling by the sea.
From the Recharged map,
We then met Bazaar.
It’s amazing the graphic gap.
The before that got so far.
A few thought of other game
But that was huge “Naha!”.
We know it’s not the same,
It’s good old New Mombasa!
The details were amazing,
The lightning? Finesse!
The animals, though, fading
Out of players madness…
Even the rats
Are there for me,
Taking all back
To the times of Halo 3…
We came back to the beach
Now at Behemoth’s wilderness.
The landscape I can’t reach
Fills me with bitterness.
There was a Warthog, a Ghost…
We could finally test these!
I was though, at most,
Brought down to my knee.
The objective modes
Are finally here.
Was it fun? Loads!
Still not my cup of tea.
I don’t fancy CTF,
It was never my thing.
I prefer the fest
Of being the king.
Then, at last, it came.
BTB and Fragmentation.
Look, admire, never disdain.
This is the new sensation!
As I look at this map
I couldn’t help but wonder.
I can’t wait to wrap
On what gives me the most hunger.
How is the campaign?
The story? The exploration?
It’s melting my brain
With a flow of emotion.
That area is so big!
Alive, a product of deeds.
It wants me to dig
To find its secret seeds.
Many were looking for more,
Perhaps fun, fight or glory.
I found myself looking at a door
One so filled with story.
It was 12vs12
The biggest map ever.
A gorgeous living hell
Full of places with cover.
But there was no happiness
No tanks, no air vehicles.
With a bit of sadness
We kept waiting for our miracles.
It felt like the game
Didn’t want us to play.
It feels so lame
To be greeted with delay.
Somewhere in between
I was granted a wish.
The Scorpion I’ve seen
Was like a heavenly kiss!
I jumped when I could,
Provoked chaos and demise!
No idea if I should,
But this has no price!
I laughed hysterically,
And with a touch of evil.
But threaded carefully,
Sneaking, so lethal.
The best part of this
Was seeing the community,
Sharing their feats.
Halo fans are in unity.
Now the Flight has ended,
I can only hold on
To the memories blended
As life goes on.
Ahhh… how much I miss
The hilarious body throw with a slap
Or the monumental abyss
When repulsed from the gap.
Deep in my heart,
I always trusted 343
Would do their part
To make the Halo we see.
So, I’ll take this chance,
In hope they’ll read.
To thank for the glance
Of what was freed.
Halo is not back now.
It was never apart.
You now show
It was always in your heart.
